International Trip Scholarship

The AccessAbility UnLimbited International Trip Scholarship aims to support students in the MSOP program at Salus University interested in participating in international orthotics and prosthetics trips. This $1000 scholarship will be awarded to one student a semester to be used towards an international O&P trip. Each recepient will have one year to use the scholarship towards an international O&P trip.

International O&P trips offer a unique opportunity for students to apply their classroom knowledge in real-world settings while working with other practitioners. These trips present the challenges of working in environments that may not have the same resources as those in the United States. Students have the opportunity to learn about other cultures while they also get to help rehabilitate people in those communities.

2025 Spring Semester Winner Caitie Steele

Caitie Steels is a member of the Drexel University's Master's of Orthotics and Prosthetics class of 2026. She will use the AAU International Trip Scholarship to go to Ecuador in February with Range of Motion Project, also known as ROMP. Caitie has been volunteering with ROMP since 2021 and became an ambassador for ROMP this year. One thing that Caitie likes about ROMP is that it provides the opportunity for patients to meet people like themselves and build their own network and support group. As she is headed into residency, Caitie is excited to use all she has learned in the didactic portion of the program in real-world scenarios.
